Here is a video of me, Ciara and Milly (my group in media) discussing what we had planned originally for our coursework.
During the Christmas holiday's, we went to Overstrand beach just near Cromer to film our idea, we went with the characters we needed and brought the filming accessories also. We also thought we went at the right time in order to film in the correct lighting etc, but it turns out we couldn't work out how to film with the camera we were using, therefore we took a variety of photographs so our trip wouldn't have gone to waste and we have decided to add these photos into our final piece in order to show bits of our original plan was involved.
Here is our group animation video of superman saving someone from a fire. What we did here was take a variety of different pictures whilst moving our playdoh characters in order to create a cartoon video. This helped us in order to widen our video skills and filming skills because if we wanted to do something similar in the future we could as we have had progress:
Over the past few weeks we have travelled to different locations in order to film a successful media video for our coursework. We also wanted our locations and the times of the day to fit in well with our idea.
Where the photos of Emily were taken: The first place we went to, to film our coursework was where we took the photos of Emily (main character) at Over-strand beach just near Cromer. We wanted to be on the beach because the beach at night looks spooky and mysterious. The beach was also empty so there was no worry about other people getting in shots of our pictures.
Where the shots of 'The Man' was filmed: I filmed my dad in the drive way of my house. My drive is a large drive and luckily there was only one car in the shot at the time when it was recorded so it looked real and fitted in well with our idea. It was also in the dark and outside my house there is limited street lights so it doesn't look like an overly crowded area.
Where the opening scene of the 3 girls were filmed: We filmed this section of the opening scene in Milly's car on a road in Wymondham. This was done in daylight as if it was the morning after 'Emily' had gone missing. It was cloudy and misty outside and cold so it looked and fitted in well with our idea because if it was sunny and bright, it wouldn't have so much as you fit 'summer' in with happy thoughts and good situations.
Putting all of these locations together worked well because it didn't look jumpy, and it just made each different scene look correct.
We only have more than one characters in our media coursework (2 minute film opening) in order to make our idea work. We will try our best to not over complicate the opening scene because it could be seen as a distraction for the viewers. The characters we are using (CASTING) for our as media coursework: We are using my (Amelia's) dad... Steve Gilbert: The reason to why we are using my dad is because he is the right size as in tall (6ft3) and has broad shoulders, so the perfect character for our idea because he looks scary, as if he is someone that nobody would want to mess with.

We are also using three girls who will be talking at the very start of our video which will be me, Ciara and Milly. The reason why we are using us three girls is because we are 'supposedly friends with the girl that has gone missing' and will be frantically worrying about the loss of 'Ellie' and wondering what we should do, whether we should tell anyone etc. Us three girls are good for this scene because we know the plot really well and can act the characters we need to be in order to successfully create a good video.
Here is the video me and Milly Chalcraft created in order to complete the task our teacher set us. Our task was to produce the most original way of filming a video on what your own opinion was on media, how we are finding the A level and anything we have studied, and what our favourite thing to do is when studying media. Me and Milly came up with the idea to do a vlog type, youtuber video. I was the actor and Milly was the director.
